Our friends at Jagasilk and the Takaki family have been working together for 4 years now. Graduates of the famous Shizuoka Tea School, the family is highly regarded for their innovation and knowledge. In fact, they are considered Masters of the finish firing process.

Jagasilk visited the Takaki Family several months ago and was fortunate enough to help process this lot. An extremely high quality producer with small and special production,  this tea was carefully rolled, withered and fired. It is rare for crimson (black) tea to come from Japan but this lot is exceptionally rich and sweet with chocolate and caramel notes (as you'd expect), but also with wonderful subtle high citrus notes.
