Meet Francy Castillo, a powerhouse producer from Arboleda, Nariño—and one of the most inspiring figures in Colombian coffee right now. With a degree in agronomy and a deep-rooted love for farming passed down from her parents, Francy blends science and tradition to grow coffee that’s not only delicious but deeply intentional. This lot is 100% Caturra, washed and carefully fermented to bring out flavours of sweet caramel, crisp apple, and a zesty pop of grapefruit.
But Francy doesn’t stop at growing great coffee. She’s also a community leader, helping nearby producers access the specialty market so they can earn more for their work. Her fermentation process is meticulous: 60 hours of oxidation in cherry, followed by 70 hours post-depulping, then a slow and steady drying period on patios and raised beds near her home. The result? A beautifully structured cup with clarity, sweetness, and complexity.
This coffee is grown at over 2,000 metres on Francy’s farm, El Ubérrimo, where she’s embraced sustainable practices like minimal agrochemical use, soil conservation, and replanting strategies that support long-term biodiversity. Every bag is a testament to Francy’s dedication—to her land, her family, and her community. We’re so proud to share her work with you.
