Renato Machado

Starting in the year 2000, Renato Machado began his career as a coffee farmer operating Sítio Santa Rita in the Alta Mogiana region of Brazil. Though they've faced challenges in production through the years, Renato and his family remain determined and dedicated to the trade and to innovating in their farming practices as much as possible. This Arara variety is a cross between Obata and Yellow Catuai discovered in 1988 in the Paraná region of Brazil. The trees are productive and resistant to both drought and leaf rust, making the variety attractive from an agronomic perspective as well as presenting tasty characteristics in the cup.
