We first released the coconut latte back in 2017, and it was a huge hit in the cafés! It's actually a very simple recipe, for a coconut latte syrup, and we think it's a great one to try out at home. Let us know what you think!
To make coconut sugar simple syrup -
50g coconut sugar
25g boiling water
Add together into container, mix until sugar is dissolved (reheat slightly if necessary to dissolve)
To make coconut latte syrup -
1 can coconut milk (250ml, full fat is best)
35g coconut simple syrup
Add ingredients into a blender + blend just until ingredients are mixed and smooth - do not over blend. Store in a squeeze bottle or an airtight container.
To make the latte -
For a 12oz latte add 60g of coconut syrup into a steaming pitcher with 300mL of any milk of your choice. Steam or heat (however you normally heat/froth your milk at home), pour over espresso, and if you’re feeling fancy, top with toasted coconut flakes!
For iced drinks, mix syrup into cold milk well (we recommend adding a little extra, since your milk will be cold and less sweet than heated milk), add ice, and top with espresso shot and toasted coconut flakes.
We also recommend trying this recipe with maccha instead of espresso! Simply use the latte instructions above, but sub in maccha.
Of course, adjust the syrup for your own personal taste preferences, and enjoy!
