Carlos Cadena is part of a new wave of producers reshaping what Mexican coffee can look like. As a third-generation farmer, he’s taken the foundation built by his family and pushed it forward, focusing on quality, curiosity, and a willingness to experiment. At Finca Pocitos and Finca Huehuetepan, that mindset shows up in every step, from harvest to processing.

Carlos has been especially focused on natural processing, exploring how careful fermentation and drying can unlock new layers of flavour in his coffees. It’s a more hands-on approach that requires patience and precision, but when it’s done well, the results are something special.

That dedication has not gone unnoticed. In 2024, Finca Pocitos earned both first and second place at the Cup of Excellence for Carlos’ natural gesha, a huge achievement that speaks to the quality coming out of his farms. This coffee is a snapshot of that same drive, a bold, expressive take on Mexican coffee that feels fresh, fun, and full of possibility.
