Mario Molina Salas

This is our first year sharing coffee from producer Mario Molina Salas, and it’s one we’ve been especially excited about. Mario farms in Costa Rica’s West Valley, where rich volcanic soil and steady mountain breezes create the perfect environment for growing Catuai and Caturra, two varieties known for their balance and sweetness.

We were introduced to Mario through our long-time friend and collaborator Esteban Villalobos at Café de Alturas, a mill renowned for its meticulous processing and dedication to quality. Esteban has been a key partner of ours for years, and his connections with producers like Mario are a big reason Costa Rican coffees hold such a special place on our menu.

Mario’s coffee is everything we love about the region: comforting, round, and endlessly drinkable. Expect rich chocolate notes, gentle dried fruit sweetness, and a smooth almond finish that makes it the perfect daily cup.
