Maximino Gutiérrez Tejada

Maximino Gutiérrez Tejada has been part of the Monogram family for five years now, and every season his coffee reminds us why we keep coming back. His farm, Florestales, sits in the lush hills of Tolima, where he grows Gesha with a thoughtful blend of tradition, curiosity, and steady care. Maximino has spent decades improving his processing and introducing new varieties, and this yellow honey lot shows just how special his work has become.

His journey hasn’t been easy. For years, Maximino’s income was unpredictable despite producing beautiful coffees. Everything changed when he partnered with a small, quality-focused exporter that ensured his work was valued properly. With that stability, he’s been able to reinvest in his farm, refine his process, and consistently produce coffees that we’re truly excited to share.

Florestales is also a place of biodiversity and balance. Alongside his Gesha trees, Maximino and his family grow citrus, plantains, and yucca, all bordered by three hectares of protected forest that they are committed to conserving. It’s a vibrant ecosystem that supports vibrant coffee, and this year’s lot is one of his most expressive yet.
