Edinson and Luz Argote

Quebraditas is the passion project of Edinson and Luz Argote, a husband-and-wife team dedicated to producing some of Colombia’s most exciting coffees. Since acquiring the farm in 2018, they’ve focused on combining thoughtful farming practices with innovative processing techniques, creating coffees that are both expressive and consistently high quality.

This lot features Typica Mejorado, a highly sought-after variety known for its floral aromatics, bright acidity, and layered fruit character. While its name suggests a connection to Typica, it is actually a naturally occurring hybrid of Bourbon and Ethiopian Landrace varieties. The result is a coffee that has earned a reputation for producing some truly unforgettable cups.

At Quebraditas, great coffee starts long before harvest. Careful soil management, strategic shade coverage, and a growing collection of rare varieties all play a role in the farm’s success. Combined with Edinson and Luz’s expertise in fermentation—including techniques like yeast inoculation and thermal shock processing—these coffees showcase a forward-thinking approach that continues to push Colombian coffee in exciting new directions.
