The Lamastus family has been growing coffee at Elida Estate for over a century, and the dedication to their craft shows in every cup. This Typica is a throwback to the coffees that put Elida on the map before Gesha took the spotlight. It’s naturally processed, full of vibrant strawberry and black tea notes, and rounded out with rich chocolate- it’s a deliciously classic taste of Panama.
Elida Estate is a really special place, perched high in the Boquete region at 1700–2000 metres. With volcanic soil, old-growth forests, and over 100 years of coffee cultivation, the farm has become its own ecosystem. We like to think this history has helped the coffee and local environment work in harmony, giving the beans their signature Elida Estate character.
We first connected with the Lamastus family in 2019, coaching Wilford Lamastus Jr. for the Panama Brewers Cup. Since then, we’ve cupped countless coffees together and formed a true bond. The family’s commitment to sustainability and their workers makes this coffee even more meaningful to share.
