El Vapor comes from a group of ten outstanding producers farming high in the Costa Rican mountains. Named after the misty plumes that form when warm air meets cool mountain air, this micro-region is known for its exceptional coffee. Grown at over 1800 metres and processed at the legendary CoopeDota mill, this natural-processed lot is rich and fruit-forward, with notes of chocolate, plum, and orange.
CoopeDota is one of the world’s first carbon-neutral mills: they run on hydro-powered energy, use water-efficient eco-pulpers, and fuel their dryers with coffee parchment. They also have a serious track record for quality, producing the coffee that won the 2010 World Barista Championship. With nearly 900 smallholder members, the cooperative is built on dedication, innovation, and a deep love for coffee.
Every sip of El Vapor tells that story. The natural process brings out a lush sweetness, balancing deep chocolatey richness with bright fruit. It’s smooth, vibrant, and a perfect showcase of why CoopeDota remains one of the best in the game.
