The Rodriguez Family

Introducing La Llama, an exceptional coffee from Agricafe, located in the breathtaking Villa Rosario settlement in Caranavi, Bolivia. This farm, the highest in the region at 1700 meters above sea level, thrives in the cool, shaded environment provided by the lush native trees surrounding it. Aptly named after Bolivia’s most iconic animal, the llama, La Llama stands as a symbol of resilience and dedication to Bolivian coffee culture. The Rodriguez family’s passion for revitalizing Bolivia’s coffee industry shines through in their cultivation of exquisite caturra and java varieties, producing coffees that are as vibrant and unique as the land they grow on.

For over 12 years, Monogram has had the privilege of working closely with the Rodriguez family, witnessing their growth from a local mill to industry leaders in sustainable coffee production. Their innovative approach to coffee processing, influenced by winemaking techniques, has consistently impressed us, and we’ve eagerly followed their progress. The Rodriguez family’s commitment to quality and sustainability has impacted not only their own farms but also the lives of more than 30 producers in the Caranavi region through their Sol de la Mañana project.

At La Llama, sustainability is more than a practice- it's a mission to reimagine the Bolivian coffee industry. The Rodriguez family has championed the cultivation of high-yielding coffee varieties, offering an alternative to the coca crops that have dominated the region for years. By sharing their expertise through the Sol de la Mañana project, they’ve empowered other farmers to achieve financial stability through coffee production. This remarkable coffee captures the essence of its origin, with delicate notes of orange blossom and lemongrass, and a silky body.
